Each ability costs 1 to 4 points to equip, and can be placed in the Abilities page. Passive (green) abilities, once unlocked for a character, can be assigned regardless of that character’s current job. Any job EXP (JP) earned from battle will be counted towards the main-job equipped. By equipping a sub-job along along with a main-job, you can use both active abilities from the main-job and the sub-job you have equipped. You can also equip a main-job and a sub-job. You can only use the active abilities and passive abilities you've already learned. For example, I can assign Gloria the White Mage job as her main-job, but if I changed her into a Black Mage, she can equip her learned White Mage as a "sub-job" (this is known as a "Secondary Job").Įvery Job in Bravely Default has abilities that are active (and sometimes passive).
